What is Kidzo?
Kidzo is one app for the family week. Parents coordinate private carpools with families they choose and approve, find kids’ classes, plan playdates, and keep everyone on time with phone or optional Echo reminders. Kidzo never drives children.
How does Kidzo work?
Three steps. Start with your school or an activity your child already does. Connect with families you choose and approve. No one joins or sees a circle plan unless you invite or approve them. Then coordinate rides, playdates and reminders privately inside that circle.
Who can join my carpool?
Only families you choose and approve. You invite parents you already know, or you approve a family from your school or activity who asks to join. Nobody is added automatically, and nobody outside the group can see your plan.
Can Kidzo help with a school carpool?
Yes. Start with your school, connect with families from the same school, choose regular driving days, and coordinate school rides. The same Carpool tools also work for classes and activities.
Is Kidzo a taxi or ride-hailing app?
No. Kidzo is not a taxi, not Uber, and not a driver marketplace. Only parents you invite or approve share rides. Kidzo does not set fares, process payments or pay drivers. Families can rotate driving or privately share costs; any payment happens outside Kidzo. Kidzo never drives children.
Where does Kidzo work?
Ottawa and area, in private beta. Other cities are not available yet.
How does Kidzo keep pickups private?
A driving parent taps “picked up” and “dropped off,” and that update goes only to the group on that plan. Parents get the two moments that matter without anyone being followed on a live map. A home address stays hidden until a family accepts.
Can children make a Kidzo account?
No. Kidzo is for parents and guardians. Kids do not have accounts.
Can I use Kidzo only for reminders or post a class I teach?
Yes. Add weekly or one-time reminders on your phone, optional Echo, or both, without using carpool or playdates. A parent can also create a class card and pin it nearby, then keep people, chats and reminders together. Community-posted classes are clearly labelled and are not verified by Kidzo.
